piston/wall clearance rings r visable?
ok i gotta be quick but i just got my short block sleeve/build back from erl performance and there is a LOT of clearance between the piston and cylender wall enough to see the rings is this normal for a low comp build.
yeah the skirt looksa lot closer ive just never seen a specially built block and thought it looked odd that i could see the rings.
ok i just got home and read the clearance sheet and it says the piston skirt clearance is .0045 but does not give a spec for the top of the piston but does this sound about right for the skirts, oh yeah the block is a b18c1 built with 84 mm darton MID sleeves and top and side coated JE 84 mm pistons w/ 8.0:1 cr
i just remember pulling the block apart before i sent it out and i know the clearances were no where near as big as they are now, i just want to make sure this is normal and the pistons arnt gonna rattle around or have extreme blow by before i put the head on.
oh and what do i need to measure the wall clearance with the pistons in,or can i?
