is this a goo theif prevention?
yesterday, i spent time with my car fixing a few things. then i though to myself about that trunk release an gas lid release. the gas one doens't work and i always use the key to unlock the trunk. so i took the whole entire thing out of the car (now i have a little square hole in my car) and hide the cables in the trunk. can my trunk still be poped open?? or will they need to steal the car an take time to poped the trunk?

So, there is no latch to pop the trunk, then the trunk shouldn't be able to be popped. But, if your back seats fold down anyway.....

true, but that keyhole doesn't work at all. and you would have to tear that **** apart. but, i don't think they would spend time tearing that **** in a car being broking in to. and to put a screwriver or whatever in that keyhole will be hard because of the window being slanted. most of the time when i see a car got stolen, they go for that the trunk release by the driver seat. i see this **** at my friend shop all the time. so thats why i took my out.

The cant steal his gas either.....Unless they pop the door open (door doesn't lock).
Good ideas but the thieves are smart. If you really have something
valuable in your trunk they will find a way to steal it.

a good theft deterrent is something visible and looks difficult or hard or takes a long time to deal with. for example - autolock. the thief will already be in ur car when he realizes he can't pop ur trunk. most likely that will end up in a stolen vehicle. good idea but try a few more layers. wheel boots is a good investment.
