This is your problem. The Yel wire at A3 in the cluster connector should have battery voltage with the key in ON(II). So the problem could be a broken Yel wire somewhere between the cluster and dash fuse box or a bad dash fuse box. Try to locate the same Yel wire coming from the rear of the dash fuse box and then scrape away a little insulation to see whether it has battery voltage close to the dash fuse box with the key in ON(II).

Could I run power to it off another wire that gets power with key on(2)? To make my life easier for now I really hate running out of gas lol.

Personally, I would invest a little bit of time trying to locate the problem because in the end this could save you some rewiring time.

I traced the wire for a little all looks intact I just don't understand what could have happen? I also notice this same color wire goes to the clock as well. Is there anything else this power wire goes to that I should be aware of my turn signals also don't work but I'm assuming that's because there is no power going to the cluster.

See post #7 for all functions on the Yel wire circuit. Use your voltmeter not vision to pinpoint where voltage can and then cannot be detected on the Yel wire. The problem will be found between those two points. Start the voltage test as close to the dash fuse box as possible.

I just purchased an 88 civic hatchback. On the first drive home (200+ mile trip), the clock, turn signals, and gauges all shut off. After awhile, they turned back on and have been occassionally coming on and off every day till the point where they don't turn on at all anymore. At one point, the headlights were flicker on and off when I ran over bumps and sometimes the high beams would turn on and off as well.

Well, today I got some time to look at it and it was simply a blown fuse. For me this was my fuse no. 1. It cost me 1 dollar, and it is all fixed. I don't know if this is the case for everyone else, but wouldn't hurt to replace the fuse, especially if you can get it for a dollar!
