gauge cluster illuminates, why don't the needles?
***Yes, I searched the forums, so please no "NOOB" posts about searching before posting***
2000 Civic EX with stock cluster, just bought the car.
It had blue LED bulbs in the sockets, but most of them were out, so I went cheap and replaced them with stock bulbs. When I got to work on it, I noticed the needles themselves weren't illuminating, but there were two sockets atop the cluster that were lighting the whole housing. Is this by design or was this a workaround for needles that don't light up anymore? This is my first EJ8, so I have nothing to compare to.

Didn't know, this is my first EJ. I noticed there were a couple of bulbs near the front of the top of the cluster, and I couldn't figure out why (they were out). Makes sense I guess, but I'd rather they did. Oh well, thanks for the confirmation.
