GAS MILEAGE ON 94 DEL SOL
Hello people, i have a 94 del sol si and i think i'm getting some crappy gas mileage for being a honda. on a full tank of gas i'm getting around 240-250 miles per tank. is that normal for a del sol? i have done a full tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, valve ajust. fuel filter ect...) the car run's great. should i go back with the stock wheel's? any feed back would be nice. thank you.

yeah thats about right. but you can calculate it.
Fill all the way up from empty, reset the trip, and drive the car till it's empty again. This time fill it all the way up and then take how many miles you drove and divide by the number of gallons you put in.
ex: 270 miles / 10 gallons = 27mpg

NOw that's really bad!
To the Original Poster: I had a Del Sol and it got over 300 miles per full tank. When you changed your spark plugs, what kind did you use? I've noticed that iridium spark plugs tend to decrease the fuel efficiency of my vehicles. Also a clean Air Filter makes a difference

That doesn't mean anything.
Do this:
Fill up your tank all the way. REMEMBER WHICH PUMP AT WHICH GAS STATION YOU FILLED UP AT. Dont top off. Let the pump do it's automatic switchoff. Make sure it's not super windy or you didn't knock the filler or something to make it turn off.
Set your trip meter to zero
Drive as you normally would.
When the gas gets low, go back to THE SAME PUMP AT THE SAME STATION.
Fill it up again. All the way. Dont top off. Let the pump do it's automatic switchoff. Make sure it's not super windy or you didn't knock the filler or something to make it turn off.
Divide the gallons you just filled by the miles you just drove.
For example, if you drove 250 miles, and fill up 8 gallons, you just got around 31mpg.
Gas gauges can be off. They usually are. Your tank might not be empty when you refill it. So the only way to know is to measure accurately.
