well you have the d16z6 (if its the stock motor), is the light coming on sayin you need to get gas, cause sometimes it goes on with 2-3 gallons left in the tank. Try this get a full tank and then get one of the gas cans and put a few gallons in that, drive around untill your car starts having serious issues with gas and see how many miles you've gotten, the extra gas can is there so you dont get stranded, i found on ym car that i ahd around 2 gallons left when the light turned on which ended up being around 60-70 miles

Im really getting tired of a$$holes making comments like this to jack up there post counts its pointless and just pushes dead threads to the top when theve been long done and over with.

Anyhow the 93's dident come with the Idiot light for the low fuel to my knowledge i think they added that 2 yrs later. But i would sagest this, When you go for a fill up rememeber your tank hold about if not exacltly 10 gallons for the sake of arguement. So when you fill up make a note of how much fuel your putting in your tank 8,9,10 gallons and make a estimate mpg bassed on that. My car averages about ohhh 25mpg city and i do in no way shape or form baby it i drive it HARD as hell like i stole the bitch. So you should get about the same if not better. Keep in mind tho mine is a stick and that makes a huge differance. Now after doing all that and your getting crappy gas millage think about doing a tune up ie. New plugs, check your wires, clean up the dizzy or replace the cap. The skills need to do an tune up along those lines is negligable, if you can turn a wrench and screwdriver you can do it no prop. Just make sure you have a long enough extension and spark plug socket (MAkes it soooo much easier! - Apply antisieze to the new plugs youll be thankfull you did next time!!!!0.

Hope that helped!

any CELS? if no how far up in revs do you go befor shifting gears. also as the motor gets older the gas mileage will go down. Do a tune up on it it should help out.

How about you use the standard unit for measuring fuel economy (miles per gallon) instead of this crapshoot "miles per tank" figure?

You might want to check the fuel filter as well, if it hasn't been changed in a while, go ahead and put in a new one.

i used to have the same problem. around 220 miles would do it for me. my friends suggested SEA FOAM and fuel injector cleaners. i did the fuel injector cleaners and it worked. another thing you should look for is your tire pressure and alignment of your tires. that also makes a difference. when my car was slammed, i got crappy gas mileage but after i raised it a good 2 inches, my gas mileage went up! i did a little comparison with 87 octane rating gas and 91 octane and 91 SEEMS like it works better for my gas mileage but that compensates for the cost.

Not really. Your coupe is lighter by almost 25 lbs.

GVWR is not the same thing as curb weight.

The GVWR is the weight of the car when fully loaded to capacity.

An empty Civic does not weigh 3,000+ lbs, that is insane. The curb weight of a '93 Civic EX coupe is 2,390 lbs. The curb weight of a '94-95 Civic EX coupe is 2,443 lbs.

Ive found that on my del sol any decrease in gas mileage is usually an indicator that i need new plugs, an oil change, fuel filter, etc I would try what everyone else has suggested and do a tune up, also use 91 fuel I get awesome mileage by using that octane, Im getting 385 city and 425 highway to a tank of 10.3 gallons
