g-tech pro performance meter
Anyone had any expeirience with g-tech's pro performance meter? Is it worth buying or is it just another electronic gizmo to get import tuners to waste their money on?

Re: g-tech pro performance meter (93egSIboi)
a friend of mine had one on his talon TSi and g-tech claims he runs a 13.8 in the quarter mile
with that said, a couple months later we made it out to the track and he ran a best of 14.7

Re: g-tech pro performance meter (EKRT)
thats a couple of months later, a lot of things can change in a couple of months.
have your friend run the g-tech on the track. that way he can compare the time on the performance meter with the time slip for the same run. then you can give an acurate evaluation.
in my opion from what Ive seen they rock? just dont feel like dumping 200.00 on one

Re: g-tech pro performance meter (Syner-G-Racing)
ya, telsa claims that the g-tech pro is accurate to 1/100 of a second compared to NHRA approve drag strip. so im pretty sure that unless you drop this thing on the ground or something its probably gonna be pretty damn accurate. also i don't think that 56 out of 74 car magazines worldwide would use it unless its a fairly good product.

Major problem is that you have to find a flat, straight 1/4 mile to flog your car out at. Not likely and you're endangering others. Just take it to the track.

Yeah my friend has one....I mean think about it...the only wire plugs into the 12V socket, so you know it's not accurate like....let's say, the tach. That goes into the ignition, and you know that needle is pretty close to precision. Anyway, I think for the amount of cash you have to blow on that, go spend it on getting blown by that hottie @ work. He showed it to me breifly, revved the car while it was on....eww the digital tach it has on there...VERY laggy and choppy. Seriously, unless you have an actual 1320 paved in your backyard or some radar, it's another electronic thing they try to beat around the bush so you'll buy it. I mean look on ebay for radar guns for that price. Don't wanna hate on this product too much, but I'm not a fan of wanna-be technology.

^ what he said
my friend had one and it was alright (he sold it)...if you have 200 but i would much rather spend that money at a track..

im sorry man but everything you said is BS.
first off most cars tach's are not very accurate
second the gtech is basically a stop watch that starts as soon and it feels a gforce(aka when you launch) then the stop watch stops after exactly a 1/4 of a mile.
maybe you should check out Gtech's web site and learn how they work before you rag on them. You obviously know nothing about the product. So stop making useless comments about a proven product.

Re: g-tech pro performance meter (93egSIboi)
honestly.. i tested with one a few years ago, it was the original gtech, not the new fancy one, and it said the exact time that i ended up running at the track.. i was so disappointed that it was actually right.

i think there worth the money, i have the g-tech pro in my EX. My time on the track was only off by .2 seconds from the g-tech. So if you dont mind spending the $ i recomend them.

Re: (94eg!)
they come in handy especialy when you are street tunning to verify a difference in g force/power...with the gtech and a wideband you can get a pretty good tune. I know everyone has bolted something on their ride and took off down the street and thought wow thats a big difference, well with this you can prove it instead of your mind playing tricks on you.
