Fuel pump not priming sometimes please help
Hey ht. i have a problem with m dd!
lately i been switching my car to on(ll) (94 Honda si) and my fuel pump primes but sometimes it does not prime at all and car has turned off on me twice this week while I was driving. I pulled over and fuel pump did not want to prime at all till about 20 min later. I checked the main relay and it was good, can it be the fuel pump is going out? Thanks in advance

I would start by checking to see if you have 12v power at the pump when its not priming. But, with it shutting off while driving and not wanting to start for 20 min does sound like the pump getting hot and shutting off, then after cooling begins to works again. If you change your pump be sure to change the fuel filter too.
usually this is the fuel pump relay shyting out. they usually Start to unsodered apart giving a short or loose connection

fuel pump. get a new one or even used. reccomend new though. I had one off of my ek and put it in my ex's Eg and it worked fine. Only reason I did that was because I knew it worked fine before I put my walbro in.
I would lean more towards the fuel pump relay. go to the junk yard and get one quick. it would be alot cheaper than buying the fuel pump. Also trace the wires around see nothing looks pinched and damaged.

The relay will usually always look good. It's the cracks in the solder points that most people over look and think its not the relay when really it is. Just my .2
I had this same problem many times. The relay wont respond while its hot. You give it 15-20 min to cool and it will start right Up again. The first time it happened to me I thought the same as you are now. Then I got a buddy's relay and determined that it was a relay issue. The relays can be easily repaired with some new solder or you can get a replacement for fairly cheap. Any civic, Integra, accord relay will work.
