Default Fuel Pump woes, possibly electrical.... need help!

Well twice so far this spring there has a been a really hot day and after driving around and stopping, my car decides not to start. I lose all fuel pressure and there is no fuel pump whine. At first I figured it to be a relay, swapped it out and still no go. Later that evening I tried to start her up after it cooled and occasionally there was some pressure and power to the fuel pump... any ideas? Short somewhere in the circuit to the pump? If anyone has any suggestions on electrical tests I could run with my DMM, it would be greatly appreciated. As of right now, all signs point to the pump. Thanks!

possibly dirty fuel pump sock. poor ground or b+ to fuel pump relay or pump itself may have a poor connection.

Yeah the fuel pump sock looks pretty good. The relay checked out fine, I'm wondering if the 150k mile pump is just done? It's odd though that it just happens in hot weather, and the Tues after an auto-x.... I figure the pump is the only thing that would be affected by heat.
