Honestly i'm not sure when the filter should be replaced, i've never noticed it in any maintance schedule, but thats not to say it isn't there, but what i can tell you is most people just leave the original fuel filter until they have trouble, they really aren't all that expensive though and they aren't hard to change so i kind of wonder why.

i personally like to change them about every 12000 miles. the same time i change out my air filter and plugs.

Why? I waited until 120K+ miles to change my fuel filter, and even then
I never noticed a decrease in MPG or performance.

that's cool, i like to no everything is in working order.
i mean i change my MTF twice a year.
