Default fuel filter

When do i have to replace my fuel filter... i don't think it is part of the routine maintenance at dealers? i have 102K on my lude rite now, the idling was bad(around 400-500rpm), but after i replace my plugs, it was ok (around 700-800 rpm), but it makes a slight noise... kinda like sputtering...

do i have to get underneath my car to replace it??

The fuel filter is located on the firewall, towards the driver side. Its a real pain to change, and you have to have some special tools(flare crow-foot socket). Loosening the banjo bolt on top of the filter is easy, but loosening up the nut underneath takes a bit of effort.

Have fun doing it... --and yes, you need to get under the car to remove it!

Your supposed to change it every 96,000km

I have a 4th gen, it was pretty easy except the bolts were torqued to hell.
I needed a breaker bar to remove them.
