from what ii know theres only one which is on the firewall. fist you depressurize the fuel system, then you unbolt the 2 feed and return line bolts, the you unbolt the clamp that holds the filter on the bracket and remove it....installation is the reverse, plus filling the fuel flter with fuel. GL

no just so you get fuel in side the filter....maybe half way....iuno if others put fuel in the filter...i do because it makes it easier to prime the car after the install, plus thats how i was taught to do it ,...you can change the filter without filling the filter BTW

i've never put fuel in it. sounds like a good idea though, good, but messy! yeah, thats the only actual filter, there should be a strainer/sock thing attatched to the actual fuel pump in the tank as well, but you usually dont change that unless you're changing the pump. oh yeah, btw, you should use line wrenches to remove the fuel lines on the filter. have fun!

When you turn the key w/out cranking the engine, you hear a momentary whirring sound from beneath your rear seat. This is the fuel pump priming. Instead of putting fuel in the filter by hand, just let the fuel pump fill it up by priming it a few times in a row.
Changing the fuel sock isn't all that difficult and can make a difference on cars that are about 12 years old or have seen a lot of miles or a lot of bad gas.

they only reason i add fuel in the filter is to get the motor started faster so i dont have to waste time priming, it fires and starts to pump...easier for me

You could dump the old filter into the new one. But I guess you don't even have 10 seconds to put the key on and off a few times.

ok. I was just asking because ever since I installed an aftermarket one, it's been hard to crank in the mornings and during the 1st starts of the day. It cranks for an extended period of time before the car actually starts. I figure it's because of the fuel filter.
