Default Front Mount Air Intakes

Are these front mount air intakes that I've seen any good or are they crap? Also, how do they compare to a regular CAI or a J's? Thanks for your help?

DON'T DO IT! THEY ARE CRAP!
the J's Racing Intake, or any CAI, is better than that stupid ricey front mount.

The concept makes sense, though. People run one of their headlights out at the track all the time to force air into the engine bay. So, what's the deal with these? Why are they crap?

headlight intakes for track use only. you cannot use that for street.

front mount intakes have a plastic cover over the filter, so whats the point?!
if used for street, you're going to see a big 90+% of hydrolock.
for track use, i'd still never use it.
1. for what i said above.
2. the piping is longer, so the it will take a long time for air to travel to your engine.
3. they are crap. you know its common sense. they were made to look like intercoolers. "interfoolers"

do i have to say more?

Im confused what are you talking about? got pics? do you mean a imitation turbo intercooler that acts as an intake? or a short ram? cause you mentioned people run with their headlights out ( I assume you mean they take out their headlight ) wel if that is so I would imagine it would be for a shortram and by removing your passenger headlight clean cooler air comes straight in to the short ram. as opposed to the CAI which can get water and what not sucked up. also the short ram has less pipe for the air to travel. But thisis all speculation on my part.

There you go it's been asked about 25 tiems

Altho they are ricey, i believe i read in a post a while back that they are better than a standard cai or short ram, cause it's the best of both worlds, but then i also read that long piping required kills the harmonics of the air traveling into your engine and takes away from the performance, where as say an AEM of Iceman intake causes harmonics in the air yielding better performance. i can't recall exactly tho, it should be in one of those
