Friends car won't go into gear!!
it's a jdm b16a in a EJ coupe, he had it for a week then at a stop light he couln't get in gear at all. when pressing on the clutch pedal you can see it actuating the slave cylinder but when try to put it in gear it seems as if the clutch pedal isn't even being used...like when trying to force it into first you can feel the car trying to pull foward...also it goes into gear when the car is off but when you try to start it with the clutch pedal fully depressed it jumps and dies...as if we had our foot off of the clutch......any ideas....broken clutch disk spring retainer maybe?? time for a new clutch??

o0o damn that's messed up. sorry to hear that bro. **** once I realised mine was gone I turned my car off and put it in gear and started it. once started I road 1st till every stop where I shut the car off again or it would stall. then over again to move. lolz. it wasn't funny then but now that I think about it I was glad I got it to move the 10 blocks to my house at least in 1st. but I didn't break my tranny though. well good luck to you all.

yeah there are teeth on the pressure plate for the clutch that can break. It can prevent shifting too, but it depends on the damage. It could also be your syncros, might want to have those checked out too.
