Default Fog lights not working - how to test them?

I have a 96 civic hatch with the yellow fog lights that everyone else has installed. The problem is they were put in by the previous owner and for some reason don't work. I would love to avoid uninstalling and redoing it myself because everything looks like it's wired correctly. Is there something I should check with a multimeter to be sure everything is wired correctly? The fuse is not blown or anything.

I'd check to make sure they are getting power and make sure your switch is working correctly. Should give you a place to start at least.

Get out your multimeter and start probing.

You said it looks wired correctly I would go through and double check, then get out multi meter and check from the battery down to see where the problem is. Here is a link if your not sure how it should be http://www.handa-accessories.com/civ...cfoglights.pdf

If anyone has the original installation instructions for them that would also be helpful.

So I worked on the lights a little more today. Realized I had a bad bulb, replaced it, still nothing. If its not the fuse, relay or bulbs, then its safe to assume whoever installed it just wired it incorrectly? I dont have the instructions so i'm stuck for now. When I press the switch, the switch itself lights up, just not the actual lights -_-. Maybe I can figure it out if someone can tell me where the negative line connects to complete the circuit? The positive goes to the battery obviously but I have yet to find the end to the negative.

Are you sure you're searching for them yourself because there's quite a few foglight DIYs floating around on the net.

Was hoping with the info I gave someone would be able to tell me something specific to check. I found plenty of DIYs but short of pulling it all out and starting over, they aren't much help. If I knew what and where to check with my multimeter everything would be gravy

Use your multimeter to measure voltage to body ground at the switch, inline fuse, relay, and fog light bulb receptacles.

I'm new to using a multimeter. By body ground do you mean where the circuit is grounded to the body?
