Default FMU and MPG does smaller = more?

so i have a 12:1 FMU on my boosted D16Y8 @7psi and the gas on it was bad, really bad. does a smaller ratio of FMU get better then the bigger one? remember my wastegate is set at 7psi so i will not boost over that.

Well, yes, a smaller ratio will provide less fuel. However, I'd strongly suggest that you lose the rising-rate regulator altogether, and instead invest in some proper tuning. Not only will your power and reliability increase, but you'll almost certainly have a marked improvement in fuel economy.
