why is an fmu so bad? im building a stock b16 with a turbo it will run 10psi boost and its in a gutted crx. is there any reason why an fmu would not work?

it'll work, it'll just suck. you have no precise way to control the fuel input. you have no control over ignition. 12:1 fmu = 12psi of fuel is added for every 1 psi. so at 10 psi, you're 120psi over factory, which is about 38-42.

160+ psi fuel rail pressure = fuel injector failure = motor gbye. and they run lean.

fmu = **** motors up.

fmu is good for 5-8psi, but it will be a little rich compared to tunned set up, i ran an fmu for a year and never had problems, but some people blow their motor and blame it on the fmu.

All I have to say is I am running a 12:1 FMU right now and I swear I used like 2 gallons of gas in like 15 miles........ But I was going in an out of boost a lot. I'm running 5 psi right now.

Well I would if I could but I have a .48 A/R T3 from a Saab on my H23 and it's to small and spools at about 2500 RPM. I think I'm just going to get a SAFC and some DSM 450's. My car is an auto and I had a lot of people tell me that there aren't really any ECU's I can use. I did hear someone say that I might be able to chip and use a P75 or it was a P72. I don't remember but I think I'll just save up and get a SAFC. I also need to get a Walbro.

For the amount of money you're putting into a setup, you might as well go ahead and get a decent amount of power out of it. An FMU is your last feasable option on a turbo setup....look into Crome or Uberdata....if you're really looking for a cheap alternative, you can get an SAFC and learn to tune it yourself....

10psi X 12= 120 + 38psi factory= 158psi

158psi, does that sound safe to you?

i find it amazing that people are willing to build a setup and cheap out on the most important part of a motor.

TUNING! IS PRIME Fing KEY!

Fuel injectors
Fuel pressure regulator
Fuel pump
Fuel rail

hondata/crome/uberdata/ect

it is the most important part of any motor setup that is boosted why cheap out and have to buy another motor?

true i would probably choose nothing if i had to choose fmu lol, its so crazy that people will spend good money over bad its insane to ave a build and cheap out in important parts of the motor build crazy

so the only reason not to run an fmu is too high or too low fuel pressure. what about adjustable fmus? i see these on turbo sandrails all the time and dont hear about any issues.
