the stock honda hood weighs 30lbs painted. some of the aftermarket steel hoods weigh a little less, usually at 28-29lbs. a decent quality mass produced carbon fiber hood weighs 16lbs (i had one, that is what it weighed. i did not have the time nor $ to buy the 8-10 hoods on the market and weigh each one to find the lightest) and custom fiberglass hoods can be down to 8lbs or even lighter. if you are not into bling, go for the fiberglass

If you're looking for a fiberglass skin like the one in that link, try these guys: http://www.speedmachineracing.com/. They carry fiberglass hoods, doors, hatches, tailgates, one-piece front ends, etc.
