Default Exhaust leak is it bad?

I have an EX with a b16a2 swap with comptech headers. I recently purchased it and when I got it, it sounded fine. I have noticed in the next couple of days that the car started getting extemely loud. At low speeds I can hear metal clanking like if the headers and exhaust bolt up got loose.

It basically sounds like it has open headers.

Only problem is I gotta wait till Monday to take it to the muffler shop to have them fix it.

Can this damage my engine?

x2 jack up the car, and see for yourself if anything is loose, will probably save you time and money.

I agree. The problem should be fixed as soon as possible. You don't want exhaust gas in the cabin. In addition, a leak around the primary O2 sensor will make the engine run rich. This can kill the cat and severely reduce gas mileage.

Tomarrow me and a friend are gonna jack the car up and see if we can see any loose parts from the headers back because thats where the leak is coming from.

If we cant fix the issue ill take it to an exhaust shop on monday to have them fix it.

Also the previous owner told me the motor mounts were worn and needed to be replaced and im wondering if this caused the exhaust leak. Honestly though there is no other symptoms of bad mounts.

Like you already said, just look yourself.

P.S. You have one header, please stop saying "headers". It makes you seem ignorant.

I don't think it can really damage the engine if the leak is after the header.
