Default Exhaust Bolt Recommendation?

Good morning folks! Back with yet another attempt at keeping this rust bucket alive. Exhaust finally gave out from my last cry for help and wound up welding it.... but then rust developed near the resonator and blew off on my way to work.

Decided to rip everything off and replace from the cat back... I purchased a Walker resonator from PepBoys and a Bosal Muffler from PartsGeek (terrible customer service, by the way).

As a man with limited knowledge, I turn to you guys to let me know what else is needed.

I have the pipes and we're cleaned up at the cat-converter... I just need to install tomorrow morning. I believe I just need flange gaskets and bolts in between each piece of pipe (cat to resonator and resonator to muffler) ....

Would your typical Walker exhaust flange gasket (Walker Exhaust Gasket 31383: Advance Auto Parts) x 2 ...be fine ?

And for bolts, apparently none of the auto part stores carry specific bolts; any chance I can pick these up at my local Lowe's is there a specific size, grade or temp. rating that I should be looking for? I'm assuming I'll need 3 for each connection ...

Sorry for the stupid question Happy Friday!

Edit** ...Vehicle is a 1997 Civic EX Coupe 1.6L / Vtec

I think you'll need
1. a crush ring gasket for each connection.
2. springs for each bolt
3. sufficiently long bolts of any type with nuts and washers. If your flanges don't have welded nuts, buy a jamb nut for each bolt, too.

Are you reusing the old pipes?

Since you're trying to limp the old dog along I wouldn't worry about corrosion resistance of the bolts/washers/nuts.

Pipes are new from PepBoys; pretty fair welds on em!

The muffler: 1992-2000 Honda Civic Muffler - Bosal VFM-1337 - Rear - PartsGeek.com
Resonator: https://www.pepboys.com/product/deta...-1590%25201.6L

Both look to have the triangle shaped gasket?? Would the ring work/be better?

Do you have any size recommendations or am I going by eye? Kind of picking up items on my way home and then going at it on the lifts tomorrow morning, so I'll be kind of blind before then.

Thanks!

Also, AutoZone chat gave me links to their search page, AdvancedAuto told me they don't have them... I went to PepBoys and they said, "Look in this aisle, if we have them - I don't know" ...So **** me, right?

Would I go something like an M8 stud??

Saw something like these, I also saw that it said automative, assuming they were going to automotive but then gave up on trying to be correct? Slap some washers and nuts on each end?

They have three bolt (triangle) flanges but the gasket is still a ring gasket. Size = size of pipe. If you go into autozone/pepboys/napa/advance you'll see them and they're listed by exhaust size.

Use your old exhaust studs as an example. Take it with you to a hardware store.

What had happened was.... when my muffler popped; I may have sawzall'd the broken pipe and tossed it in my company's metal recycling dumpster... Fortunately I may be able to get to it later tonight. Which may actually be a good idea so I can grab the springs from the muffler.

That's probably my best bet. Thank you!

Autozone has a Dorman or Walker spring bolt kit available.

Here is the same at Advance Auto
