Re: ex wing (93dagsr)
Open the trunk lid, take a look at the underside of it near the edges, you should see the outlines for the mounting holes, just drill them out and drill one larger hole for the wires.

Yes, just tap into your brake light wiring, please please don't use scotchlocks/tap in connectors, either solder and put shrink tubing over your connectors or use high quality butt connectors that have shrink tubing on them.

You keep the third brake light, and yes this is the one to tap into. Every 5th gen civic i've ever seen with the factory rear wing had the rear brake light. The EX coupe may or may not have come from the factory with the wing, I'm not sure, NOFX would probably have a better idea. If it did its the only 5th gen that did. For everything else, and maybe even the EX the spoiler was a dealer installed accessory and the rear brake light was retained.

I kinda wondered about that, i have a sedan spoiler for my sedan that i haven't installed yet, at some point the wires were cut so i wasn't entirely sure if there ever was a plug on it. Now on that note i have the plug and some of the wiring for an Si coupe (same as US EX) so obviously it plugged in and wasn't just spliced. I seem to recall seeing a number of sedans that had factory spoilers and had both lights, but i wasn't specifically looking for it so i'm not positive on that.

Spoilers on Civic coupes and sedans were optional on '92-'00 models.
All cars from '86 and up have required a high mount brake light though, so the coupes and sedans (and hatches for that matter) all already have one in the window.
The spoiler plugs into the same socket that the window brake light plugs into, so you just change them. Unplug the window light and plug in the spoiler. The plug should be right underneath the window light.
That counts for the 6th gen at least and I wouldn't imagine the 5th gen would be any different.
