hey guys im new to the site. here is what i did. bought a cheap cheap 97 civic ex coupe auto with a bad motor knock for my gf. already had my 96 hatch dx auto that i wanted to make manual and sway to atleast a y8. so i swapped out the dx motor and trans and into the ex and everything was smooth. then when i went for a test drive couldnt get it out of park without using shift interlock bypass. check engine light is on for P1705 shift interlock multiple gears detected. swapped out with another electronic shift position sensor and same issue. having a very hard time figuring out whats wrong. looking at diagrams the cruise conrtol is mixed into the shift position sensor wiring and the dx didnt have cruise. but the ex does. would the harness from dash be different going to the ecu from ex to dx? HELP guys this car is driving me up a wall.

I assume you swapped the ECU's when you swapped the engine/trans over?

yes i did swap everything over engine trans harness and ecu.
