Default EX cluster won't light up...

Swapped an EX cluster this weekend into my DX hatch. Revs work fine, turn signals work, all the sensor lights work...but no light around the guages at night? I checked the fuse, and it's fine. I read something about the dimmer switch, but never got a response from someone with this same problem. Any thoughts?

I did the search. Nothing was confirmed in any of the threads, except there's a dimmer bypass. I'm not interested in that. The last thread I posted in on this subject, I was told to start a new thread, instead of bumping that one.

Weird. I swapped a EX cluster into my DX and all was fine. It was nice and bright.

where did you get the cluster from? are all the bulbs there are or are any of them burnt out?

if you say the cluster is working but not lighting up check the bulbs... (you said you checked the fuse and it doesn't sound much like the dimmer switch but could be you could play with it..._)

The cluster's only got 93,000 miles on it, and is in great shape. I'll be wiggling the dimmer switch when I get home tonight. Hope that works.

OK, so I did the dimmer elimination mod, and still no lights. What's next to check? The bulbs? What did you guys do with the ground wire, when you connected the red and black wires?

Lemme make sure I'm reading this correctly. Cut the red and black, connect them. Reinstall the dimmer switch, with the ground still hooked up to it, and that should do it?

I'd just replace all of bulbs if I were you. That's what was wrong with my EX cluster when I got it.

Replaced the bulbs, nothing still. The climate control lights are also out. Makes me think it's some sort of grounding issue. Any more ideas?
