Default is this even possible?

Well im having a oil leak problem. For some reason I always have oil on that sensor that's next to the temp sensor(which I forget its name). Fine I checked the valve cover gasket aint leaking. So fine I went to dealer and got myslef a new dizzy o-ring and replaced it. Check it today and bam oil on that sensor again. So my question is even though might sound dumb, is there a possibility of the oil coming out within the sensor itself? As in it has a hole? Cuz really that sensor is always drenched in oil not a lot but im thinking it aint right. So can anyone help me here?

If he say's the engine is VTEC.. I'm willing to bet it's the vtec solenoid gasket leaking

Wrong. Believe me when i say i checked all gaskets, thats why i asked this weird *** Q. See if it would be the Vtec Sol. gasket my dizzy and temp sensor would have oil also but it dont only that one sensor does. The one nearest to the top radiator hose.

yea, your talking about the greenish one right? (i could be wrong cause im thinking of my d16z6). but i think your talking about your vtec oil pressure switch, or oil pressure sensor of whatever people like to call it. i could see a possibility of this leaking. have you tried removing and inspecting it?

No its not the "VTEC OIL PRESSURE SNESOR" its the regular oil pressure sending unit for the light lamp of the cluster.

well regardless of what it is (since im not as familiar with the y8) if its supposed to hold oil, theres a chance that its not. id say if you can get it off without damaging it id would take it off and check it. i know here in ohio where they love to salt the roads doing this can mean a total catastrophe when its so rusted it strips out or breaks. i wish i could help you more but i cant think of what sensor exactly your talking about, plus its almost 3am and i am half asleep lol.

i have the same engine, the sensor you are talking about is blelow and slightly forward (forward in repsect to the car) from the dizzy, above the tranny.. i have oil on mine too, havent bothered to look at it since i changed my dizzy o-ring... but it looks like its still coming from there.. im not sure.. if you find out whats wrong post it maybe i'll feel like spending the time on this POS car...

Well at least I feel a lot better knowing im not the only one

If I find out what's wrong ill let you know im gonna check it really good and im gonna remove that sensor to see if its busted. I wonder if this can make the engine trip maybe send wrong signal since it gets oil on it and its very hot against the pick up. Cuz when car is cold it runs great but once it gets warm it kind of loses power.

Damm........now this seems like a common problem now. WTF? I haven't replace VC gasket but that **** aint leaking so I aint gonna replace it. You can tell a VC leak cause the head will have smudge all around it. But being that said this seems like a pretty good thread then since a couple people are having this problem.

D16Y8=FTL.....LoL

he is correct, sort of. he thought you were talking about the "oil pressure sender" which is a sensor on the back of the block. the vtec pressure switch sensor is on the head, near the solenoid.

I had a similar problem, excpet i had oil going down that sensor and the seem where my block and trans meet. I replaced the vtec solenoid (spool valve) gasket and that didnt fix it. One day i took my dizzy rotor cap off one day (cant remember why), but i find oil inside my dizzy. The internal seal was bad apparently, it went through the inside of the dizzy and through the seem where the rotor cap and dizzy housing meet, on the bottom outside of the dizzy case (that why i couldnt see it) and on the motor. So take your rotor cap off and if your dizzys leaking from the inside.
