Nope the oil pressure sensor has nothing to do with it, although it really should.

OIl pressure sensor can't sense oil pressure if the engine is not running!

If you still can't get the engine to fire, Are you getting sparK?

If not, is voltage coming out the dizzy?

If not, is voltage reaching the dizzy?

On certain makes, the oil pressure switch is bypassed when you turn the ignition switch, then when the engine starts, it will complete the circuit. If no, or too little oil pressure is detected, then the fuel pump is cut and the engine shuts down.

Although i was never an FI specialist, i do not believe Honda ignition circuits are configured this way.

on my 1996 Civic EX D16Y8, i disconnected the oil pressure sensor (yes the stock oil electrical pressure sensor) and hooked up a steel braided line to the hole to use for my mechanical gauge.

I have lost the low oil dummy light, but my car drives fine and no check engine light. and i've been doing this for months. i wonder if the oil pressure sensor is directly connected to ECU. if it does, why don't I get a check engine light or why doesn't my car go into limp mode?
