Engine Worth my Money
Hey everyone Im from Toronto, Canada and just picked up a 1992 Civic CX the D-Series motor under the hood is completly cooked. So I've been looking for a new motor, my plan as of right now is to drop a B18C5 inside. I found a site that is in Canada but I don't know much about pricing honda engines, they ask $4000US for the works (ie engine, tranny, ECU, etc.). I wanted to know if thats a steep price for that motor set. Thanks

Type R motors sell for a premium due their high demand and short supply. Most bang for your buck would be a d series boosted.
Some people don't like turbo'ing honda's, others do. Depends on the owner mainly. But you will get more power for less with a boosted D.

Member nerdsports is making 270whp on a turbo stock sohc.
Also, people make 400whp with boosted D series with forged pistons and rods.
Do some research before you start spending money and find out what set-up is right for you.

Re: (Slopoke)
cool thanx for the info. 1 last question i know the Z6 head is better suited for boosting due to the timing issues of the y8. does a Z6 head bolt onto a D15?

it really depends there is a guy named turbo_y8 on here making an unheard of 375whp on a stock d16z6. and the motor survivied a spike of 29psi makeing 425hp on a stock motor. the only thing not stock is the b16 intake manifold he probably paid no more 3000 for everything. find him and talk to him. and do more reasearch as well

Read "mini me" **** by BauleyCivic.
Also, if you have $6000 and you want 350hp, get a B18B (Integra LS) engine and boost that. Bone stock and 350hp with good tuning is quite possible.
