Default good price range?

whats a good price range for a civic ex y8 engine and transmission with about 100,000 mileage on them??

im just wondering so when i go to junkyards i know how much i should be dishing out

what about $500 shipped from NC to chicago?? i am not desperate in getting one, but no one in chicago has one. im sick of my shitty transmission its ****** gay and noisy

If it's just the transmission? Why don't you just replace the transmission. I don't know the geography from Chicago to NC, and if it has the miles you want on it then I'd say that's not bad since it's being shipped.

no its $500 shipped to chicago from charlotte for engine and tranny both

or i pay $250 shipped for just the tranny

im thinking of doin just the tranny...but i have a civic hx..and the motor isnt too great

If you got the motor you'd need some other stuff as well, the ECU and I'm guessing a new harness too.

yea thats true. i dont think hes giving me an ECU

i mean my motor isnt blown or anything its just slow


i guess for now ill swap out the transmission and do a mini-me to my hx in springtime or something.

Yeah, the tranny is going to be a direct swap. The motor will require a tad more parts, and research. Good luck with everything.

No, your linkage will work. Does that tranny have any sort of warranty? I picked up my JDM S20 with 30,000-40,000 miles for $325 with a 1 year warranty..

no warranty...im not sure where this guy emailed me from..maybe from here

but he said the tranny has 95k on it...so i dont think it has a warranty...would it be better if i had one??

Well, it doesn't really matter. You could definitely find a better price on a transmission though, with the many miles on it. I wouldn't pay more than $150 for that. Try searching the local classifieds.
