you can attached them on the motor mounts like z6hatchboy says.. but if your gonna keep the mounts I usually take a long bolt and screw it behind the valve cover on the top right and use that as one end for the hoist to hold while the other one would be the supporting mount on the transmission of if you dont have the supporting mount on the tranny then take another long bolt and screw it there. Those are the 2 areas that will make the motor come out evenly

Some engines have a bracket where the tranny mounts to the block. I usually put a second bolt through the chain into one of the bolt holes for the p/s with a washer. Or you could go to a part store and get a kit that has a couple brackets, you place where you like by removing bolts and replacing with the brackets.
