broke this bolt... any ideas why?!

Default broke this bolt... any ideas why?!

i went to the track and when i launched my car this happened..



it wasnt even a hard launch though. i think having a stock rear mount may have done it but im not sure. any ideas?!

that's where the rear engine/subframe bracket bolts onto the tranny/engine

yea i know the bolt didnt really break it was the top part of the tranny that broke off. my guess is it flexed and it broke. you guys think a solid rear mount will prevent that from happening again?

Stock mounts wouldnt cause that to break unless you torqued the motor so much that the mount count hold and it was on the subframe instead of a mount. Should be fixable if you still have the top part. Youll want it welded back on and then probably run a tap through to make sure the threads are good.

How many mounts are you running?

Yeah, I can see if you aren't running the a/c bracket mount and the other transmission mount that would put a lot of stress on that rear mount I am going to jump to conclusions and say those mounts are either not present or not in good shape.

yea thats prob the case. i broke mines off. but i came to find out that i only had 1 of those 2 bolts on

not really its not like its a hard fix i just wanted to know why it happened.

yea im running 3 mounts no tranny or ac mount but i have had several motors and never had a problem so i dunno.
