Emissions on the ek hatch wiht 99 jdm r swap
well i have a few questions, I do have hook ups, but **** will still be hard. when i say hook ups i mean they can play around wiht the emissions and etc. My boy was saying yea yea i got you, and all that. but by time it came around right now yea righh.
When they plug up to diagnose it doesnt show anything, this would be probable because i am still using the Jdm ob2a P73 ecu correct?
car is fine, no checks, idles at 700rpm-1krpms
I can go this route
Find another ek hatch same year?, and use it to pass, Undoubtley but possibly
Or
Have my mans GSR ecu on, and put on a cat, ok but this is the other concern, The Jdm ecu doesnt read secondary o2 sensor so thats why i had a straight pipe since
well if i do get a cat and a o2 sensor my question is, HOw do i hook it up? I honestly dont know what engine harness i have
if this helps, its a 99 jdm type r motor in a 97 ek chasis. where would the secondary plug up to?
THanks, any info would happily appreciated, i will let yall know on the updates. my tags exspire in dec

Re: Emissions on the ek hatch wiht 99 jdm r swap (h8ted ek)
i just had a similar problem with my B18CR in my 98 EK w/P73
i went to the emissions station and it wouldn't read my ecu
no CELS and a normal idle
it wouldn't read so they opted to go for the traditional sniffer
my state might be a little different than yours
check your local dmv website for emmissions regulations

1. JDM P73 is still an OBD1 program with OBD2 plugs, so it won't be read by scan tools
2. Your engine is lacking a CKF sensor on the oil pump housing, so in order to pass emissions legally you'll need this sensor. This means you will need to buy an oil pump from any 96-up Integra GS-R or Type R that has the CKF sensor mounting holes. Then you'll need to buy the actual sensor itself, and finally the lower timing cover probably won't fit, so you'll need a matching lower cover for the same OBD2 GS-R/ITR.
3. You will need a functioning catalytic convertor
4. You'll need to make sure the evap system is hooked up, or at least isn't throwing any check engine codes
5. You'll need the secondary o2 sensor hooked up
6. You will also need to swap out the VTEC solenoid from your JDM ITR engine for any USDM VTEC solenoid/valve that has an oil pressure switch, then add the wires for it. The JDM engine doesn't have the VTEC oil pressure switch, and the JDM ECU doesn't look for one. USDM ECUs look for the VTEC oil pressure switch, so you'll need it.
7. You'll need a 1996-1998 USDM ECU - it can be anything OBD2A that had a DOHC VTEC engine in it, such as 96-99 Integra GS-R (P72), 96-97 Del Sol VTEC (P30), or 97-98 ITR (P73). I specify years because only these years will plug in and work.
Good luck.

That's exactly what i was counting on
they had no choice but to sniff it

In the state of Georgia you don't get the option - they do not run the sniffer test on any 1996-up OBD2 car here.

I hear ya B18c5-EH, well if i had a usdm like yours it might be differ. hehe, thats a whole lot i would have to change, finding parts and etc. i very do appreciate the info man. I think i may just have to go with plan a , Northern Va is strick as fawk. no way around the system.
by the way the eg is hot, would have gotten an eg but too many of them are rusted out around this way.
Yea really, i will need any luck i can get, thanks
