Default EG PROBLEM!!!

hey guys im usually not in this section but my friend has a 92 EG and it started to miss fire so i check his plugs and i notice he was running way to rich, but when i remove the plug from cylinder 2 it was all oily from the tip so i knew that his rings are gone. So what i was wondering can he use a D15b2 block instead of the D15b7?? because i have one from my 90 EF that i dont need no more.
