Default ECu's/Emissions

I have to take emissions and am having trouble..heres the facts:
-92 jdm b16a
-obd 1
-2000 hatch (obd 2)

I always used to use my buddys P2T from his si and passed fine..well i dont have access to that anymore so i tried using my buddys 2001 gsr ecu and the car wont turn over. I hear no fuel priming and the car just cranks...any ideas?

I put my obd1 p30 back in and the car runs fine.
Should I just track down another si ecu or do i have bigger problems?? Driving me nuts!

1. GSR ecus have the fuel pump pins in different locations than Civic harnesses. You'll have to depin and swap them. I don't remember exactly which ones you have to swap where, but you do. I know it's written up in my swap thread that I can't find right now, and it's also on FF Technet, which is where I found the information originally.

2. 99-01 OBD2b GSR ecus have an internal immobilizer that will disable the fuel pump unless the car is started with the electronic key that's correct for the ECU... assuming your car also has the electronic key reader doohickey installed and working... which it doesn't. There are ways around this, but the easiest one involves a constant CEL that will fail emissions anyway. If you could also get the key, reader, and ECU from the same GSR, you could probably make it work.

3. My suggestion is to buy a P2T ECU if that's worked for you in the past.

The si chip was that obd1 or 2, cause im swapping a 94 ls into an ek and i might have the same issues. Im curious though how did they plug into your ecu if its not obd2 wouldnt they just say you failed when they see its obd1?
