ecu for k20a2 ek civic
i just bought a wrecked '02 rsx type s 6 speed and i need to figure this out b4 i start this swap. i have hasports installation instructions and it says you need the immobilizer removed and from what i hear, you have to have hondata do this for about a grand. i also heard the immobilizer is what makes it so only the original key that came with the car will start the motor so i'm wondering if i can use the acura ignition switch in my ek and not have to mess with my ecu? is that what the immobilizer does?

actually you can just ground the immobilizer function out of the ecu by attaching a ground wire to it. Search about it on clubrsx.com...it's a common thing to do. Also, the hondata reflash isn't only to remove the immobilizer, it's to remove the ECU's search for the different emission controls that are on the RSX-S that probably aren't on your car.
