ECM/PCM reset
A while back while driving I hit a pretty deep puddle of water and had some problems
with my engine sputtering and stalling intermittently. My check engine light goes on and I figured
if I let whatever got wet dry out everything would be okay. My car runs fine now but the engine light is still on and I was told resetting the ECU/ECM might fix the problem. In my civic manual it says I need scanning tool or PGM tester from Honda to clear the memory and then to remove a backup fuse to perform the reset. I was wondering if clearing the memory is necessary or if there is another way to do it without getting Honda's scanner.
