Default ebay turbo kit

I just saw a video of a d16 with a ebay turbo kit pull pretty hard. Anyone know what kind this is?

Here is link to vid...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVgxt...eature=related

If I could get anything decent for a couple hundred I would turbo my d16. Any suggestions would be helpful

I would seriously recommend against it. Go ahead and get a cheap eBay intercooler and piping. I wouldn't skimp out on the turbo/wastegate/and bov. At that point you are just asking for problems. You can get the cheap wastegates, but need to change the spring out to a good one.

Just do what I'm doing and piece it together a bit at a time. None of the stuff I've bought is Ebay. From what I've read it's a crap shoot.

Since mine is a daily driver I'm not going all out for max HP nor trying to break my car like that dumbass in the video was doing. I started with the bones of a Greddy kit and built off of that. I'm at the point where all I need are some gauges to finish it off and then install time. Been piecing this together about 4 months now.

You better do your research.

The Greddy kit has a 15g turbo as it's base and is internally gated. Didn't need to worry about sizing it. I haven't kept track with what I've spent. Turbo-ing your ride aint cheap.

Greddy Turbo and manifold was about $400. I probably could have gotten it cheaper but the turbo is nearly brand new, no shaft play and the manifold was painted black with high-temp paint. Quick spool up with these smaller turbos.
Kteller downpipe was about $125.
450cc injectors & resistor box $175
Injector clip adapters $30 (to avoid splicing wires)
P28 with a Crome Pro baseline set up for 8PSI-$150
OBD ECU harness -$65
Walbro 255 - $60
Spare oil pan (and gasket) for tapping $65
Piping, couplers and FMIC (used) - $90 (Rethinking this. Might go brand new with the IC)
Oil feed/drain lines and fittings with restrictor - $100+ (lost track of this because it took me forever to find a -3AN fitting for the feed line to the turbo. I have plenty of spare fitting laying around now)
Blox sandwich adapter - $25
NGK plugs and wires - $65
Fast Turbo vacuum manifold & fittings - $45
Generic BOV - $30 until I can upgrade it later.

I'm sure I'm missing some minor things but this is a basic entry level setup.

Why are you putting the ever so famous "t3/t4" option? (which seems that's the only turbo people know) If you have a stock D series and are going for low boost just stick with something nice and small. I dare to say begin with a cheap T25.

No just look around online or at a junkyard for the turbo. I have a DSM side mount intercooler that I was using on my turbo project that I canceled. They are good for around 14psi (if I remember right) so if you are going low boost it might work out great for you. Let me know if interested, I'll let it go pretty cheap.

does it matter what flange is on the turbo like t2 or t3? is it easy to find a manifold for either?

everyone is going to flame on anybody whom says anything about the Ebay turbo kits, Fact is yes they suck.... They are built in china by the butt load with barely any Q.C.

The shafts are not balanced that well.
The waste gates are direct copys of Tial's
The intercoolers are Decent if you are lucky
and most of the problems lie inside the turbo housing Oil feed.

But I have heard of and seen over 250H.P. out of Ebay (chinese) turbo set ups. And I have heard of Failure upon installation. But for 700 bux shipped for a complete kit it is not bad.
This guy seems to be the best for it. I got a friend with this set up installed good and is running for 2k miles no problem. Royal purple oil 10psi Max D16z6

you know what? check your budget, check your build, EBAY is not that bad, people dog it cuz they are haters! i had a BONE STOCK b16a2 on a EBAY TURBO KIT and pushed it for 20psi w/hondata s300 and NEVER had a problem! I KNOW EBAY WORKS! i do suggest you get a cast iron mani tho and you will have to do a little bit of cutting to make it fit right... lol, but it sure does work!
