1999 Civic 5 Speed Shifter Rod
I'm having a hard time removing the shifter rod from the trans. I have removed the spring pin but can't ge the shifter rod off. Any tricks would be a help.

Yes, I removed the spring pin 28. I can't get the shaft to put off. I will try the pen. oil and see if it loosen up.

So I have tried penetrating oil and I still can't separate the shift rod #14 from the transmission. I'm afraid if I really hit it I will damage the inside of the trans. HELP!!!!

Really. Someone else must have had this problem. I'm thinking about putting some heat to the coupler to see if that break it loose.

Just to follow-up, I had to remove the transmission with the rod attached. Once out of the car, I had to heat the coupler and then spray liquid wrench in the spring pin hole. This allowed me to break the shift rod from the coupler. What a pain in the butt! Thanks for all you help!
