stuck shifter rod
I am pulling out the engine & tranny from a 92 civic 5 spd and I've gotten down to the shifter, drove out the 8 mm pin but the shifter rod seems to be frozen (rust) to the tranny shift rod. I sprayed liquid wrench in it and I'm going to try again tomorrow. Any of you Honda guru's got any tips? I thought about heat but I don't want to burn up the rubber boot and I don't like pounding on the shifter rod. Any help would be appreciated.

I have never had mine or anyone elses do that to me. Just giggle it around pull push and wiggle and it will eventually come out if it dosn't you can fanagle the motor out with the linkage still on it isn't fun but if worst comes to worst you might have to .
