i am one that had first hand experience. The dx ecu on the Ls motor will make you rmotor run lean. You engine will rev up quickly but your car won't go as fast. I was running an ls/16 tranny, so the problem worsen with the reving part. May advice is it is okay to drive it for a while however it will be slow so you have to get a p75 or a pr4 ASAP. Also like the motor under low rpm to prevent detonation. 93 octane gas helps too. Once you get the p75 or the pr4 you'll know what i m talking about. Good luck

Anytime the word "lean" and "engine" are in the same sentence this is something you will want to try your best to avoid. Just my view of the situation. Lean=melted pistons and burnt valves. Well lean + too much spark advance = melted pistons as the FSAE engine team found out dynoing last years engine getting it tuned.
Anyway, you dont want to be lean.

like i said before, it will still slow...you aren't going to catch up with 1.6 ***** hp at redline if you lack the middle powerband. Also the number isn't the much of significant in the ls motor. That graph is for the b20 (similar but b20 has more hp). The one good thing about runing the dx ecu is to save gas (too little to be risking melting of piston). There is too many disadvantage so switch to the Ls ecu. The chart speak for itself.
