Re: dremel tool (hatchhondagreg)
Only if you know what you are doing, and you are extremely carefull. My friend did it to his B20 swap, it turned out really good, but he knows his stuff. Good luck if you are going to try this on your own.

IMO If you are using the dremel "Hobby tool" don't bother if the only bits it accepts are 1/8" you need to accept at least 1/4" bits which the dremel heavy duty model can do. The bits with 1/4" shanks have much bigger grinding areas and will give you a much more uniform finish. If you use the 1/8" bits then you'll just end up making a mess because the bits are only a little bigger than a pencil eraser.
Though the 1/8" shank bits can come in handy around the valve seat area.

Re: dremel tool (FifthGearOnline)
Ive used my Dremel only about 4 times, but each time it was the only way to do the job which was enough to make it worth the cost.

Re: dremel tool (sinister)
the only thing i have seen done is taking a demel and smothing the exhaust ports on teh block. Basically taking off the deposits and stuff. This would do very little and be a waste of time in my opinion.
So you could "polish" , but not actually port. Port the heads that is..

Re: dremel tool (GS-Rcivic)
stay away from dremels except for little hoby jobs. As stated before, carbite porting bits are only available in 1/4 inch sizes. So, you need to get a die grinder, either air or electric. The electric ones(at least the Craftsman one I have) is not variable speed, so you can just hook it up to a dimmer switch to adjust the speed. These shouldn't cost more than 40 or 50 bucks. Then the bits you need can be up to 25 bucks a piece

and Oh, before you even touch your head, read up and understand the physics of porting and how the air flows, etc. Knowledge is key.
