Default suspension question???

what would cause someone to get new springs on their civic? and what happens to ride quailty and what not when springs go bad? i know this is a funny question, but its important for me to know. thank you

i could be wrong, but i dont think springs go bad, its the shocks. the car will start bouncing.

ic. well what happens when the springs "go bad"? im trying to find a good reason to tell my parents i need new springs. my car as 90k. What are some legitimate reasons? thanks

How smart are your parents? I would go with something like "It rides too rough!" or "Its to bouncy." They minght belive you. If they are going to pay for it you should tell them the shocks are bad too.

hmm well something a bit more detailed than that. What about like me running over a huge pothole or rust on the springs, causing my car to creak? does that work?

no, no, tell them that your springs are starting to sag and it's putting to much stress on your shocks. tell them you have to replace the springs before more things need to get replaced.

no, no, tell them that your springs are starting to sag and it's putting to much stress on your shocks. tell them you have to replace the springs before more things need to get replaced.
THAT is what you need to tell them!

Tell em your engine is going to blow and you need a new engine. But before you get the engine you need higher spring rates to hold the heavier engine.
