I didn't know where to post this question but i have a civic soooo...
A couple weeks ago my dome light stopped coming on when I open the door. It works when u turn it on manually but not when the door is opened. I checked the fuse under the hood and it is fine. Has anybody ever dealt with this problem? Its getting very annoying.

Pull the screw out on the door pin switch. Check for rust or sediment on the contacts, clean it good regardless. If you have an alarm on it, then check the wire under the dash-it may have become severed. It can go further than that, but check those first......

Try adjusting the switch slightly, like wiggle it around and see if it turns on... I had this kind of problem with another car of mine...

Actually I also have an issue with my dome light, which is kind of related... my SiR (Canada) is supposed to have a fade-out dome light. It stopped working a while ago... the light just turns off instantly. Anybody have this problem? fixes?

did u ever figure it out ??? i have a 97 civic coupe ex and have the keyess entry just the other day my keyless won't work and my dome light won't come on when the door opens but i can turn it on manualy thanks

I guess the keyless might have something to do with the dome light.... stops coming on all together or stops fading out...

anybody know? I'll contact the dealer next week and find out...
