Hi Everyone Heres the prob with my 92 civic lx... If I drive somewhere for longer then say 5-20 minutes (the car gets warmed up), and I shut it off it will not crank back up! I have to wait anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes, then it will start again... I can hear it turning over, but it just doesnt start... any clues? This problem is extremely irritating and inconviennient as I bet you guess

This is a classic.......
Definetly, definetly the main relay. To know for sure, when this happens the car will crank but you wont hear the fuel pump kick on. Next time this happens just listen for the hum coming from under the rear seat--no hum = bad relay. I forget the part number, but roughly 55-65 dollars from honda. Also one more thing, when you get the new relay it will look a lil different than the bad one. This is due to honda fixing the problem, which was a bad solder joint inside the relay somewhere.

I've never reall had any problems with the main relay for that year civic...that usually happens on the older models......

also another common problem for your vehicle is the ignitor....
check if you have spark....if you don't have spark 9 times out of 10 it's your ignitor..

I'm a Honda Tech, we go through alot of ignitors for civics and accords....

also check if your ignitor is made by OKI...if it is, those are the bad ones...
NEC ignitors have no problems..
