Default Does a "quiet" exhaust with 3" tip exist??

After fixing the body and repainting the Si this summer, I plan on upgrading the exhaust. I've grown to enjoy the Apexi WS2 for it's quiet demeanor. The tip size is still a bit too large (hoping for something around 3" max)

Although relatively inexpensive, the idea of hacking a brand new muffler to weld on a new tip seems a bit crude. So, I figured I'd ask around first to see if a "quiet" muffler with around a 3" tip exists. Has anyone welded a new tip to such a muffler? Are there other mufflers of a similar nature with a small-ish tip?

Thanks in advance!

I like my 3" in/out magnaflow, its quiet, not raspy one bit. Setup is turbo d16, 3" downpipe, 3" mandrel all the way out to the magnaflow. No cats/resonators.

A turbo exhaust would be quieter from a N/A set up. OP what is your set up?

I cut the tip off of every WS exhaust I ever bought and painted it flat black. The WS muffler is available in universal fitment, buy a mandrel bent pipe kit from Jegs or Summit and custom make what you want.

Right now, everything is stock except for a drop-in K&N filter.

Check out the vibrant exhausts, they are about $100. quiet when your driving regular, and a beast when you are WOT. They have different set ups dual tip, single tip, and they have different sizes.

you can find a stock 2006+ civic si exhaust. They are stock, the tips are pretty small and are pretty quiet.

Really? I'm still new to this so I wasn't aware a newer Civic Si exhaust would fit. Would it take a lot of modifications, or pretty minor?

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Looks like I have some good ideas now to work with.

You will need to modify the hangers. A simple welding job will fix that.

Just an update, I ordered a JDM SiR axle-back exhaust. After hitting my head on the wall, and debating tons of options, I loved the OEM look of the EG6 SiR muffler. Simple, unassuming, quiet, and factory. It's in transit, and wont be installed until I get the car re-sprayed later this month.
