Re: doch vtec ecu on a soch vtec (Zeus Zore)
so there is no performance gains from it
if so, honda would have done it from the start

my friend bought a bullfrog ecu for his d16, then put it on his gsr and it works fine. so there interchangable, at least a bullfrog one is.

dohc vtec will work on sohc no doubt but there are no performance gains unless your sohc vtec if fully built.
usually vtec, rev limit, fuel maps don't really correspond too well to a stock motor. so by so called upgrading you're doing more damage then good.
also non-vtec d15b/b18b is the lowest common denominator ecu - meaning it will usually run in most cars without setting off a code or running too bad. as its has no vtec, no oil pressure switch, no knock sensor, no EGR (present on h/f series), and fuel/ignition maps which are meant to be very forgiving as far as octane and timing is concern.
