Different motor mount for A/C
I search for this already so don't flame me. I know this is a stupid question, but I wanted to make sure I am correct for opening my mouth.
I ordered a B16 swap for my Si, but the guy I ordered from is telling me he has to wait for motor mounts. But, if I wasn't going to retain A/C he would be able to get the mounts more quickly from elsewhere. I am determined to retain A/C, but that is besides the point.
How does the MOTOR mount affect the A/C? I thought it had it's own bracket. Do you really need a different motor mount if you have A/C?

The mount he is talking about is the A/C compressor bracket/mount. It mounts to the front of the engine, and also to the frame.
If you want to keep the A/C in your car, you will need to buy a new A/C mount.
If your car is a 92-95, then get one from a 1994-5 Del Sol VTEC.
You can get them at: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ for around $120.
You will need to have the mount, because it is considered one of the "torque mounts", menaing the engine will twist without it being in. You need it.
Tell the guy to get the engine, overnight a bracket from the above website, and problem solved.

Ahhh, I knew I was going to have to pick up a Del Sol A/C bracket. But, I didn't know it was considered a "mount" for the motor as well. Cool, I'll just tell the guy to send it with the mounts he can get more quickly.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

I drove around without that mount for like a few months and I have a dent on my hood from shifting hard......
94+ integra mounts also work if you can not find a del sol mount...
Remember its the B series mount....

Yes, the Integra mount will work, but it will not line up properly with the Civic A/C compressor. That is why you change it to a Del Sol VTEC mount.
