Default EM1 Motor mount question..

i have a 99 em1. im using the innovative mount kit (upper solid mount, tranny side solid mount and rear solid mount)

my question is this... the mounts are 60A urethane... pretty stiff stuff. can i get away with not using the lower tranny mount in the front and the bracket for where the ac compressor used to mount?

because A) the two lower mounts are ugly.. showcar
B) solid urethane in 3 places plus a torque dampener should be more than enough to keep the motor from moving.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

thats the mount kit im using.... i dont see why they are needed anymore... solid mount in the middle of the motor in the rear keeps it from flexing.. the urethane should be able to stop it from moving without the torque mounts.... but like i said im open to opinions

My lower mount is cracked and my car shakes and the shifter moves when I rev my engine. So I dont think so TIM.

no, you wont be ok..........

you want to put the mounts on. you have 2 mounts that are inline with the crank. you want to use the 2 lowers because it will distribut the power into the chassis/suspension instead of rotating the engine on the center axis... like an engine plate in a sence.

yea, im bad at explaining ****
