Default difference in y5 head and y8 head

I have an hx and wanted to do a swap to a y8, but what are the differences. I know the hx and ex have a 10 horse difference with different tranny's, ecu, etc. But I did not know the difference for the head. If anyone can please help me out on this one. Thanks

HX has roller rockers and two lobe cam (VTEC-e) the EX has a three lobe cam (VTEC). That is the only difference I am sure of. The ports may be slightly different. The valves are the same size.

you may want to look into spade's d series thread and the potential of the y5 head. It has those roller rockers which the y8 does not have and it has the potential to make big power.

Default hx head

the only bad thing about the HX is that it doesnt seem responsive to tuning for some reason...i was running I/H/E n some other stuff and was only pulling into the 16s with mine...
