Default difference in DX/EX injectors?

is there a flow or impedence difference in the dx/ex injectors? ie...from the y8 or y7 motors.- If you switch the intake manifold in a dx(y7) to a ex(y8) can you use the dx harness with the injectors? Honda part #'s are different but no other info is given.

EX vs. DX injectors are identical in terms of the wiring harness etc. The only thing I can think of that may result in different part #'s is the fact that the 99+ EX manifold had tiny little vents above each injector. Possibly, there was some change made to accomodate this. As for "behavior" and flow though, they are the same. Other than that, the EX/DX injectors may have different part #'s strictly for inventory management.

I currently have a 99 EX manifold bolted to a 98' D16Y7 wiring harness. I had to plug the vent holes with RTV due to the shape of the manifold gasket and head. Everything works great.

I used the DX TB because of the IAC valve. My wiring skills are ****-poor, and I couldn't get the EX IAC valve to work with the D16Y7 wiring harness. But the DX TB is also identical to the EX TB, with some minor changes to accomodate the IAC valve on the side of the TB instead of the back of the manifold.

Comparing the DX and EX TB's, you'll notice they both have an air passage leading to the IAC valve located on the EX manifold. This passage was blocked on the DX by the shape of the DX manifold. So, I used a little more RTV and plugged the passage on the EX manifold that led to the IAC valve. Then the DX TB bolts right up.

The only other change you have to make is to take the little throttle cable spring wheel thingy off the EX TB and put it on the DX. Another difficulty I had was not having the throttle cable holder that comes with the EX manifold. I had to weld one up. There's no way to rig the DX cable holder to work.

Overall, I'm happy with the swap. I can feel an increase from 4000 rpm's and up, but it is slight. I had my car dynoed recently and recorded a 3 HP gain above where it dynoed with the DX manifold. Same torque numbers though. Also, the side-draft setup just looks way better IMO. And, the bigger plenum definitely delivers a nicer intake sound.

I'm about to complete a "mini-me" swap on this motor, so IMO it was very important to swap the manifold as well. The larger plenum and (slightly) shorter runners will help with the increased high end flow.
