Default Del Sol: Boosting Performance

ok guys, i've been lookin around. i want some cheap ways to boost a little here n there HP. also some stuff that i can transfer to my other engine (when i get $$ for a swap ) so far i've come up with this, correct me if im wrong, or add if you wish. This can serve as a guide to other n00bs as myself so they dont ask ?'s

Cold Air intake: $30-50: mount on and increases milage and HP
Spark Plugs: $??-?? (depending on plugs), increase performance and milage
Change Timing : $00-00: Modifies performance for high end or low end
Spark Plug Wires: $??-??: Increases efficiency of Spark Plugs
Synthetic Oil: $??-??: Boosts performance of Engine, shaves tiem off 1/4 mile...
Feul Additives: $10-15: Increases gas milage (suposedly)

feel free to add to this list and change any indescrepancies. Its suposed to be a list of cheap, easy ways to increase performance in the short run, but can also act as something to use in the long run.

No aftermarket Manifolds, T-body's, etc that cost anything more than $100, b/c thats not cheap

EDIT: This is ment for people with stock civic engines. D15b7 non-VTEC or d16 SOHC VTEC to gain performance on their engines. Also can be used for people with DOHC VTEC engines if they wish to boost performance w/o spending their Rent $$

Cold Air intake: $30-50: No huge gains here. But it counts I geuss.
Spark Plugs: $??-?? Dosnt increase performance. Only regains what was lost if you had really shitty plugs..
Spark Plug Wires: $??-??: Same as above.
Synthetic Oil: $??-??: no 1/4 mile times gained...sorry
Feul Additives: $10-15: dont even bother with those.

Synthetic oil gives you a better 1/4 mile time? Where the hell did you hear that from?

All those things you mentioned will only give you high butt dyno numbers. But nothing real.

If you want real horse power or something buy yourself a dremel. And when you get your swap practice boring out thing, like your TB or the head even.

Dont forget you get what you pay for. This is a Honda not a muscle car. You cant get the same gains as you can with a muscle car on simple ****.
