I have a b16 with minor work done to it in my heavy *** del sol and it will pull mid 14's all day on street tires
my b16 makes me happy
go with the b16

Re: Del sol B16A...B18C1 (tbud454)
Well mine runs 14.7's it's a B16A P28 ecu, JG edelbrock intake mani, everything in my sig. I guess what my real question is, will my del sol be faster with the upgrades done to it or will dropping a stock B18C1 be faster?

of course you will make more power with that stuff done to the b18 becuse it already came with more power than the b16 and more torque but i dont think its worth swapping for that little bit more power. If you are gonna do anything i would build a poor mans type r.

You could easily swap out most of your b16 stuff into the gsr and the gsr into the b16. Then sell the b16! Only downside I see is labor. If you are doing it yourself and not paying anybody I would do the change if you are now able to afford it. But if not then stick with the b16.

my moms del sol is a 95 del sol vtec the one with the b16 and i have a del sol s with a swapped 96 b18c1 and id say gsr all the way. The b16 feels so slow compared to driving my car like someone said earlier there is no replacement for displacement

ahh one of the fine honda myths.
a del sol does not weight more than most civics. curb is around 2300 lbs.

yeah everyone makes it seem like a del sol is just a boat of a car. everyone expects it to be as light as a 92 cx or something.
